Their journey to earning Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology from The University of the West Indies was a testament to mutual support, nearly derailed by a significant academic obstacle. The sisters, who have done everything together since birth, affirmed that their synchronized path through university was instrumental.

Fortunately, an unexpected offering of the course during the summer semester provided a reprieve. Shenelle retook and passed the class, preserving their shared timeline. Recalling the moment she walked across the stage, Shenelle described it as a “testimony” to their perseverance. For Jhenelle, the sight of her sister graduating alongside her was a profound relief and a “blessing,” as the idea of celebrating without her had been a source of sadness.
