He also serves on NASA’s Earth Observations for Sustainable Development Goals (EO4SDG) board, an initiative within the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) that partners with NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites. The board guides how satellite and remote sensing data support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Thigo’s connection to this work runs deep, he is credited with bringing the Africa Regional Data Cube to Kenya and other African nations in partnership with NASA, unlocking 17 years of free Earth observation data for development.
