Lupita Nyong’o Honours Chadwick Boseman on the Three-Year Anniversary of His Death. It is undeniable that Chadwick Boseman had a tremendous impact on Hollywood and the world at large. His performances as Tchalla in the Black Panther franchise and Jackie Robinson in 42 were acclaimed by critics and loved by audiences. However, it was not just his talent as an actor that made him a beloved figure but also his character as a person.

Despite facing the daunting challenge of battling colon cancer for four years, Boseman continued to work tirelessly, starring in several films while enduring treatment. His dedication to his craft while dealing with a serious illness is a testament to his resilience and his commitment to bringing joy to others.

His death in 2020 sent shockwaves across the world. Many people, including Lupita Nyong’o, had no idea he was ill and were blindsided by the news. The sorrow that his passing brought on was palpable, as evidenced by the heartfelt tributes paid to him by fans, celebrities, and co-stars.

Nyong’o’s tribute to Boseman is particularly poignant given that she played his love interest in the Black Panther movies. Her recollection of a happy moment shared with him while on a trip to South Korea highlights the depth of their relationship and the joy that he brought to those around him.

“Three years ago today, I experienced a singular pain at the news of @chadwickboseman’s death. The confusion was so profound that it took months to trust the feeling of joy again. This is a photo I took on film at the airport as we arrived in South Korea in 2018. We had just learned to do the baby heart with our fingers. Here Chadwick was adding his suave flare. We spent a glorious 72 hours there, and the memory fills me with so much joy.”

While adding “Death is hard to understand, maybe even harder to accept. But the love generated from the life he lived will fuel every anniversary marking his absence. Chadwick may no longer be in our photos, but he will always be in our hearts.”

His legacy as a groundbreaking actor and a compassionate human being has continued to live on even after his passing. Several initiatives, including the Chadwick Boseman Foundation, have been established in his name, dedicated to continuing his work in promoting diversity and empowering young artists. Though his life and career were cut tragically short, his impact on the world will continue to be felt for years to come.
