Have you heard of the amazing Zimbabwe-born William Sachiti? He is a self-described “serial entrepreneur” who has created Europe’s first street-legal driverless cars, already being used to trial deliveries of goods to households in Surrey, UK. But that’s not all! Prior to creating this amazing technology, Sachiti has also created and sold several projects that have been acquired by others. Let’s take a look at some of his incredible achievements.

Sachiti moved to the UK at 16 and had his first start-up at 19. His business was called “123-registration”, which was a domain registration business but it was later acquired by another company. It is inspiring how he set out on his own since such a young age!

Not one to shy away from big challenges, Sachiti built “MyCityVenue” – an A.I.-driven experience platform serving 1.6 million users which was acquired in 2015 by Secret Escapes. Talk about success! In addition, he also created “Clever Bins” – solar-powered digital outdoor advertising bins which eventually licensed its technology to six countries and local government bodies – proving that even small ideas can have a huge impact!

William Sachiti is a remarkable engineer and inventor who has made a huge difference in the modern world; without him Europe’s first street-legal driverless cars may not have been possible. He serves as an inspiration to those looking to make their mark in the engineering industry and beyond.
